Unlike sectional doors, folding doors can include a
dedicated emergency exit door.
This is to be considered as remedial solution for cases
where an exit needs to be created in a building under
renovation and/or upgrading, but the conditions of the
walls do not allow the installation of safety exit doors
elsewhere.
A pedestrian passage without step is commonly called
split panel”, because the panel is spit into two
sections so that the lower section can be opened toward
the outside.
The solution can be adopted in all door types consisting
of 1, 2, or 4 panels per door if installed indoors, or 1, 2, 3,
or 4 panels if installed outdoors.
The width is the same as the panels that compose the
gate door.
The standard supply includes panic device (1, page
10)
with two lock points (top and bottom) and a unique
adjustable device (2, page 10) that ensures perfect
coupling between the top and bottom section. An AISI
304
stainless steel drip and safety strips complete the
standard supply.
Split panels can also be created in PS and PB models, as
well as PL models (single panel only).
Note:
The responsibility for using the pedestrian passage
as safety exit lies with the user, whose technical experts
should verify with the appropriate authorities that the
location, size, and number of exits are correct for the type
of operations carried out in the building.
